Two Trainings on the Use of Digital and New Media Held

Continuous investment in our children and youth obliges us to constantly develop and strengthen their capacities in various areas. That is why, through the implementation of two online trainings on the use of digital and new media, we provided participants of the EU-funded project “Connecting the Dots 2.0 – Enhancing Child Participation in Decision-Making for the Improvement of Children’s Rights and Democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina” with the opportunity to gain communication and presentation skills in the digital sphere. These skills will help them better present the results of their work and increase their visibility at the local, entity, and cantonal levels.

This training is important not only for more effective communication—which is often the key to success—but also for adapting to new and digital media and the fast pace of sharing and understanding information.

Participants had the opportunity to learn:

  • the rules that should be followed for successful presentation on social media;
  • the specific characteristics of different platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok);
  • simple and accessible techniques and tools for effective social media communication;
  • how to make updates on social media more attractive;
  • how to define a timeline for publishing posts.

These skills will undoubtedly contribute to improving communication between training participants and the external environment, as well as between participants and digital/new media—which are an important resource for promoting all future individual and joint activities.During the workshop, participants also gave suggestions for improving the Coordination Platform, emphasizing the need to make it more youth- and child-friendly.
