Workshop of the Children’s Parliament of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo

The Children’s Parliament of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo is the only group of children formally recognized and supported by a municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina year after year. The Children’s Parliament consists of two representatives from each school in the municipality and has been actively involved for more than 10 years in processes taking place in their local community.

The primary task of this group is to monitor the needs and problems of children and youth in the community and to find solutions with the support and cooperation of adults.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, another workshop of the Children’s Parliament of Novi Grad will be held. This workshop is part of the advocacy initiatives of children’s and youth groups through the project “Connecting the Dots 2.0 – Enhancing Children’s Participation in Decision-Making for Improved Child Rights and Democracy in BiH.”

The focus of the workshop will be on strengthening children’s capacities in the areas of children’s rights and participation, as well as planning advocacy activities aimed at establishing Children’s Parliaments in other municipalities as a key model for children’s participation in the community.

The workshop will take place at the “Safet Zajko” Center for Culture and Education.

Dječiji parlament Općine Novi Grad Sarajevo je jedina grupa djece koju je jedna općina u Bosni i Hercegovini formalno prepoznala i podržala iz godine u godinu.  Dječiji parlament Općine Novi Grad Sarajevo čine po 2 predstavnika iz svih škola navedene općine i aktivno su više od 10 godina uključeni u procese koji se dešavaju u njihovoj lokalnoj zajednici. Primarni zadatak ove grupe je da prati potrebe i probleme djece i mladih u zajednici, te pronalazi mogućnosti za njihovo rješenje uz podršku odraslih i u saradnji sa njima.
