Youth from Banovići on Mental Health: Educational Workshops by the BaUM Association Foster Open Dialogue and Creative Expression

The BaUM Youth Association from Banovići held a series of workshops dedicated to mental health, giving participants the opportunity to explore this important topic in an educational, interactive, and creative way. The workshops are part of the project “ Connecting the Dots 2.0 – Advancing Child Participation in Decision Making for Enhanced Child Rights and Democracy in BiH,” implemented by World Vision BH Foundation and the Association Our Children Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, and financially supported by the European Union.

Through teamwork, discussions, and presentations, young people learned how mental health affects their thoughts, emotions, and daily functioning. The workshops enabled participants to openly express their views, share experiences, and actively contribute to drawing conclusions on how to take care of mental health and support one another.

“The great interest and engagement of young people demonstrated how significant this topic is. Their willingness to talk about their own experiences and learn from each other further motivates us to continue with such activities,” said Amela Lugavić from the BaUM Association.

A special contribution to the workshop was made by the youth through final presentations, where they creatively showcased what they learned and how they plan to apply that knowledge in their everyday lives.
