The initiative “The Future Is in Our Hands”, implemented by the association “Srce na dlanu” from Banja Luka, was launched with the aim of giving children and youth the opportunity to develop leadership skills, project management, and public advocacy. Through educational workshops, we have been learning how to turn our ideas into concrete actions and how to become active participants in our communities. The goal is simple yet powerful – to show that change starts with us and that everyone can contribute to a better future.
My name is Anđelo Deni Janjetović, and I had the opportunity to take part in the Project Management workshop. Honestly, before that, I thought ideas were just nice words on paper. However, I learned how to set goals, create plans, and work in a team. This knowledge opened my eyes – I realized that nothing is impossible when you have a clear vision and support.
After the workshop, I decided not to remain passive. I launched a small initiative in my community and gathered people around a common goal. We want to install lighting in smaller parks in our local area, and we hope we will succeed in achieving this goal.
It was challenging, but the feeling that together we can make things better is incredible. Now I truly believe that the future is in our hands – when we take responsibility, learn, and act. These experiences gave me confidence and motivation to keep going. I learned that change begins with us, with small steps that lead to big results. If you have an idea – don’t wait. Turn it into action. Because we, the youth, have the power to shape the world we want to live in.
