What does a world look like in which all children are happy, safe, and free to dream? This playful and inspiring work takes us exactly into such a world, seen through the eyes of eight-year-old Anea, who believes in kindness, friendship, and fairness.
Through warm and imaginative images of everyday life, Anea reminds us how important sharing, understanding, and support are, as well as how small things – like a smile, play, and kind words – can make the world a better place. This text invites us to reflect together on how we can build a just world for all children.
“My More Just World”
Imagine a world where no child cries, no one goes to bed hungry, and everyone can be happy—that’s how I imagine a more just world. And we could all eat ice cream for breakfast and chocolate for a snack, and mom wouldn’t be allowed to find out!
The morning begins with a smile. Teeth are brushed while singing songs. At school, there is no shouting, and homework is funny and short, so it’s easy to understand. If someone doesn’t know something, the teacher teaches them and says, “Bravo, you can do it!”
Games at school… Everyone plays during brakes. If someone falls while running, we laugh a little, and then we say, “Well, at least you didn’t break your nose!” and immediately help them up.
We share everything! If someone forgets their lunch, they get part of a sandwich. We all share toys, balls, crayons, and smiles. No one would be sad because others tease them or because their sock is on inside out—in fact, that would be funny and trendy!
Healthy and happy! All children are healthy and safe. If someone gets sick, they go to the doctor and get medicine. No child would go to bed hungry or feel afraid. Sometimes we would eat ice cream, cookies, or chocolate and share them with friends—or at least try to, because sometimes everyone wants the same piece of chocolate!
Friends from all around the world! Children from different countries can be friends. We learn their languages, play together, and laugh. If someone likes drawing and someone else likes building Lego towers, we would create something silly and fun together. We would all have the same rights to be children and to dream.
Big dreams! Children dream big dreams. If someone wants to be an astronaut, the teacher shows them the stars and planets. If someone wants to be an artist, they are given paper and paints. If someone wants to serve other people, they can become a doctor or a teacher. All dreams are important, and we can all achieve them.
A just for everyone! More just world means sharing and helping one another. No one would be alone or sad. Borders wouldn’t be obstacles, but just lines on a map that mean nothing in friendship.
I believe that if adults and children work on this together, our world can become more just. Then all children would be happy, we would laugh every day, share cakes and ice cream, and every child’s smile would show that the world is fair.
