Joint session of the Council for Children of BiH and the Council for Children of FBiH held

Today, on July 24, 2025, in the premises of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, a joint session of the Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Council for Children of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held, with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional cooperation in the field of protection and promotion of children’s rights.

During the session, consultations were held on the Draft Framework for the Implementation of the Recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, in accordance with the obligations arising from the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The work programmes of both Councils were presented, establishing the basis for a coordinated and comprehensive approach to improving children’s rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants of the session agreed on concrete next steps and activities that will be implemented in order to more effectively implement the recommendations of the UN Committee, as well as to improve the institutional response to the needs of children in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The importance of continuing cooperation with UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been acting as a strategic partner of both Councils for many years in the process of strengthening the system of protection of children’s rights, was particularly emphasized.

It was concluded that the Children’s Council of BiH and the Children’s Council of FBiH will continue to achieve close cooperation in order to realize the rights of every child, and ensure continuous coordination and exchange of good practices and experiences.
