The Z-Media Association from Zavidovići successfully implemented the project “I Have the Right,” empowering children and youth to become agents of change in the field of online child protection. This initiative responds to the growing challenges of the digital age, especially in smaller communities where such topics are often overlooked. Through educational sessions, workshops, and an online campaign, the project activated and empowered young people who recognized the importance of digital literacy and child protection in the online space.
🔍 The goal of the project was to equip a group of children and youth (aged 15–20) to independently conduct workshops on internet safety, with a focus on protecting children from cyberbullying and harmful content. Through organized training sessions, young trainers gained knowledge and skills which they immediately applied in their work with children.
📌 Key activities included:
- Three one-day workshops for 15 young educators;
- Two pilot workshops for 40 primary school students (grades 5–9);
- An online awareness campaign on child internet safety.
📈 Project results:
- 15 young educators trained;
- Two workshops held for over 40 primary school children;
- Online campaign conducted via Zportal.ba and social media;
- Increased awareness of digital safety among children and youth.
Some participant comments:
Edib Dendić (20): “I really enjoyed participating in this project. The newly acquired knowledge and interaction with other participants made this project very interesting and useful.”
Sara Delić (16): “Participating in this project was much more than just a series of workshops – it was a journey of learning, togetherness, and personal growth. Each session with Eldar opened new questions, but also offered answers that empowered us, encouraged deeper thinking, and inspired us to act more bravely. However, what will forever stay in my heart is the moment we stepped into the Second Primary School. That was the first time we passed on the knowledge we had gained to younger peers who listened attentively, asked questions, and looked at us the way we once looked at our mentors. That’s when I realized we had become a bridge between who we are and who we can become. And to me, that is the greatest value of this experience.”
🎯 The project directly contributed to strengthening the capacity of the local community in the field of child protection, and the young educators now represent a valuable resource for future initiatives in schools and other institutions.
