The Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced a Repeated Public Call for submitting proposals for the award of the “Denis Mrnjavac” Award for the promotion of tolerance and non-violence for the year 2025.
All high schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina are invited to nominate students for this significant award. The award is granted to one high school student from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one from the Republic of Srpska, and one from the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have contributed to the promotion of human rights, tolerance, and mutual respect, especially in the fight against violence among youth.
The awarded students will receive a sculpture and a special recognition in the form of a plaque, as well as a cash prize of 1,500.00 BAM for each awarded student.

All high schools, in accordance with the constitutional jurisdiction over education, have the right to nominate students for their contribution to the promotion of human rights, tolerance, and mutual respect among youth through the relevant ministries responsible for education.
The nomination for the award must include:

Personal information of the nominated student and school details (full name, grade, name and address of the school attended)

Information about the nominator (name and address of the school, responsible person)

A justification for the nomination explaining how the nominated student has contributed to the promotion of human rights, tolerance, and mutual respect among youth.

The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 days from the date of publication of the Public Call on the Ministry’s website (starting from September 29, 2025).
