At its 70th session held on February 12, 2025, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted a Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Children’s Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which now includes children and youth in the work of this body.
According to the Decision, the Council will involve children and young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina in its work through competent and other institutions in the country, including the Children’s Parliament.
This advisory body will hold consultations and discussions with children and youth of different ages at least once a year, and more frequently if needed, during its sessions. The aim is to improve the quality of work and ensure better protection of children’s rights.

Dear children and youth, ahead of you lies an opportunity that carries great responsibility but also incredible power—the chance to actively participate in the work of the Council and in decision-making that shapes your future and the rights of children and young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The decisions made today will shape the world you will live in tomorrow, and it is important that your voice is heard.
Advocating for children’s rights is not only a right but also a duty for each of us. Our rights are fundamental and inalienable, and you, as young people, play a key role in ensuring that no child, anywhere in the world, is neglected, overlooked, or deprived of their basic rights.
Thanks to this new opportunity, through dialogue, creativity, and dedication, you can contribute to building a society where children are truly protected and where they have equal chances for a happy and healthy life.
This is your chance to make a difference. Seize it!
