Through the initiative “Open Doors Day at the Day Centre”, successfully implemented by Association Nova Generacija, Banja Luka, children were given the opportunity to present their needs and proposals directly to decision-makers. Their voices led to tangible changes, including the extension of the Day Centre’s working hours until 8:00 PM three times a week, as well as the decision to provide free memberships in sports clubs and regular access to sports facilities for more than 40 children, supporting their rights to play, recreation, and meaningful leisure time.
In this video, Anja, a young volunteer, talks about the changes they are most proud of, the courage and self-confidence that children from the Day Centre developed through advocating for their rights, and how the “Connecting the Dots 2” project showed them that their voices can be heard and taken seriously. Watch the video and see for yourself that children are not merely beneficiaries of support, but important partners in creating more inclusive and equitable communities
