Art and Literary Work “A World Without Borders”, Iris Mujić, age 13

In a world where differences are often a reason for division, children’s voices and imagination remind us of what truly matters—love, safety, and every child’s right to a happy childhood. The poem “A World Without Borders” by young author Iris Mujić powerfully and emotionally presents a vision of a planet where there are no divisions, but only friendship, understanding, and peace.

This literary message is accompanied by an artwork that strikingly portrays two realities of the children’s world: on one side, smiling, safe, and carefree children, and on the other, children affected by war, silence, and loss. In this contrast, hope and warning come together—a reminder that the world we wish for is still not a reality for every child.

Through the combination of words and images, this work invites us to pause, to feel, and to recognize the responsibility we all share: to build a world in which every child, no matter where they are born, has the right to peace, safety, and their own little paradise—a world without borders.

“A World Without Borders,”

On this planet, children form a circle,

holding hands, each one for the other.

Different faces, languages, and skin colors,

yet the same hearts beat within their chests.

A child in a wheelchair smiles as he looks around,

among friends, he faces no barriers.

Because in a world where justice reigns,

every child has the right to their own piece of paradise.

Doves of peace fly above the world,

carrying quiet wishes for every child.

A book, a ball, a heart—symbols of a child’s dream,

that childhood may be a game every day.

But beneath such a world, a silence pains us,

ruins stand silent where schools once were.

Books have fallen to the ground without a sound,

and children’s dreams vanished from the classroom.

As children depart, tears fall from our eyes,

a quiet wind carries everyone’s pain and sorrow.

Into the earth have gone books and children’s dreams,

the sadness in girls’ eyes tells us everything.

They only wish the world would know

that children need peace, not war.

They do not ask for wealth or the shine of gold,

only that every child has their own paradise.

So let us join hands across all borders,

let walls, barbed wire, and prisons disappear.

Let the planet be a home to every child,

in a world without borders, in love and peace.

For when children’s hands join in a circle,

borders disappear and hope remains.

And the Earth softly whispers through the cosmic glow,

children are the world—protect that paradise!
